Basic Operational Purchasing Training

Government Procurement Service offers basic operational purchasing training, including the CIPS level 2 qualification (four modules) to all trusts via its network of task force trainers. Our taskforce trainers provide between 6–8 days of their time each schedule to deliver training. We have received extremely positive feedback about the courses we offer and we are confident that they are a very credible and effective way of improving staff competencies. All Basic Operational Purchasing Training courses are provided at no direct cost to your organisation. The only costs your employer are required to pay for is travel and subsistence expenses.

The CIPS level 2 introductory certificate in purchasing and supply covers the basic purchasing and supply issues, fundamental principles and processes.

This programme is delivered by our taskforce trainer network of NHS Supplies Managers who have been specially trained to deliver Basic Operational Purchasing Training to procurement staff in supplies, pharmacy and estates across the NHS.

Courses currently available are listed below (please use links to access the course outline).
