Supplier Zone
Government Procurement Service’s priority is to provide savings for the public sector as a whole and specifically to deliver centralised procurement of common goods and services for Central Government Departments. We deliver expert sourcing, category and centralised data management on behalf of government.
We have 4600 contracts with over 2000 suppliers on more than 100 framework agreements, providing goods and service across the core commodity categories. All existing Government Procurement Service suppliers have successfully undergone a rigorous EU compliant procurement process.
We are committed to ensuring that small organisations and businesses can compete fairly with bigger companies for our contracts. We aim to attract as much competition as possible from good suppliers of all sizes in the market place, including SMEs who may not have competed for Government business until now, in order to deliver best value for the taxpayer and innovation from the ensuing agreements.
As part of our new remit we are simplifying the bidding process and adopting LEAN processes to reduce procurement lead times and improve efficiency, making it quicker and less costly for suppliers to tender for public sector business.
